This session is the fifth webinar in the Enough is Known for Action series for the youth community, hosted by the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) Division of Youth Services and Regional Offices, to inspire strategic planning and action now in anticipation of the July 1, 2015 implementation date of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Description

Full publication title: Enough is Known for Action Series: Making the Shift – Successfully Leveraging In School Youth (ISY) and Out-of-School Youth (OSY) Resources and Services

In partnership with the National Governors Association, the National Association of Workforce Boards, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, MDRC, and the Department of Education, we are hosting an encore webinar on Serving Out of School Youth. In fact, we are going to have a candid conversation with workforce leaders who have been serving ISY predominantly and are now moving to serving OSY predominantly. We are also going to feature state and local areas that are already serving OSY predominantly to understand how they got where they are today. We also want to check in with you and see how the shift is going in your state and local area. Finally, we will share the latest research on serving both ISY and OSY so you are not starting from scratch!

Through your participation on the webinar you will:

  • Get the latest scoop on what we know works for serving ISY and OSY now;
  • Listen in on an interview with state and local workforce leaders about how they’re adjusting to make the shift;
  • Hear from you to understand your progress on making the shift and what additional resources might support you and position you for success in the future.
