Wagner-Peyser ES and UI – Supporting the Reemployment of UI Claimants

Resource Default Image

WIOA includes many provisions intended to strengthen the role of ES Staff in supporting UI claimants throughout their job search and reemployment. This page identifies strategies, research, and resources that can be linked and braided together to provide UI beneficiaries, dislocated workers, and other ES participants with pathways to reemployment.

Topics include behavioral-based strategies, customer-centered design, UI work search requirements, training, opportunities created by the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment grants (RESEA), and an introduction to new reemployment tools such as the My Reemployment Plan.   The unique needs of special claimant populations, including individuals identified as most likely to exhaust UI benefits and recently separated veterans receiving Unemployment Compensation for Ex-service members are also addressed.
